FIJI 7S RISE TO GOLDEN GLORY #1
This E-Book depicts the rise of the Fiji 7's Rugby Team over the last 4 years culminating in the Rio Olympics 2016. It is a souvenir for all Fiji 7's Rugby Fans in Fiji and overseas featuring all the various Fiji 7's Squads from 2012 - 2016. It also shows names and some pictures of past Fiji 7's players from the 70's, 80's and 90's who have donned the Fiji 7's Rugby Jersey with pride including Ilaitia Tuisese, Rupeni Ravonu, Robert Howard, Etuate Gusuivalu (Honda),Waisele Serevi "Maestro", Rauluni brothers, Tomasi Cama (Snr), Noa Nadruku, Luke Erenavula to name a few.
The idea and vision behind writing this eBook commenced following the 2013 tournament at the "Mecca of Rugby 7's" Hong Kong where the Fiji 7's Rugby Team led by current captain courageous Osea Kolinisau staged a great comeback in the final to beat Wales. Fiji were behind 19 - 0 at half-time. Osea Kolinisau came on in the second half and the rest was history. Kolinisau scored 3 scintillating tries and helped Fiji to a 26 - 19 win. The winning Fijian side was not surprisingly coached by Alifereti Dere and supported by Tomasi Cama and Waisele Serevi. These were the 3 players who played and won 3 years in a row at Hong Kong (1990,1991 and 1992). They also featured in the famous between the legs pass leading to Tomasi Cama's Try. Watch the Final between Fiji and NZ HERE .Waisele Serevi was also inducted into the hall of fame on the same day in Hong Kong.
Former Fiji 7's Coach Ben Ryan took over as coach after this and guided Fiji to their First ever win in Dubai (2013).Watch the pulsating semi-final between Fiji and NZ HERE Fiji shot out of the blocks from the start with all guns blazing and scored a" tsunami" of tries, one of which could be one of the best 7's tries in history (featuring Pio Tuwai and Emosi Mulevoro).
Fast forward 3 years and Fiji won their FIRST EVER MEDAL IN HISTORY at the Rio Olympics - 2016.
